A production of the opera Carmen by The Garden Opera Company, on the lawn at Fair Mile, has drawn over 300 residents from the development and the village of Cholsey.

The event, organised by the Community Development Trust, made up of developers Thomas Homes, Linden Homes, residents and representatives from the Cholsey community, raised over £3,800 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Phillipa Fisher of Cholsey, who attended the event on 29th June comments, “The performance was outstanding and the leading lady gave it her all. I really enjoyed the evening, despite the chilly weather. It was a great opportunity to get together, have a picnic and enjoy some first class entertainment. I hope that there will be many more events of this kind to come in the future.”

The properties at the Fair Mile development are being marketed by Thomas Homes and Savills. Karen Mole of Savills adds, “Fair Mile offers not just a beautiful place to live but the opportunity to be part of a thriving community.   Events such as this have without doubt brought an increased number of visitors to the site and have contributed to the growth in sales over June and July. Residents are now looking forward to the opening of The Great Hall at Fair Mile which will provide the perfect venue for events in the future.”
