Heritage Plaza
Kemble Drive, Swindon

At Churchward Village in Swindon, Thomas Homes is bringing new life to the former locomotive works of the Great Western Railway as part of an extensive regeneration project to include an urban residential development of apartments and houses, leisure facilities, restaurants, hotel accommodation and office suites which will provide a vibrant community in the heart of Swindon.

The total Churchward Village 138-acre site incorporates several mixed use schemes in an important conservation area alongside the main London to Bristol rail line, and is within walking distance of the station and Swindon town centre.

This includes regeneration of many historic listed buildings and the accommodation of original architecture from the Brunel period, and redevelopment completed to date adjacent to the Thomas Homes site is centered around the 20,000 sq ft undercover Great Western Designer Outlet Shopping Centre and also includes the home of the new National Trust UK Headquarters, The National Monuments Records Centre and a Great Western Railway museum.

Status: First phase under construction, with completion due 2010
